Do we need biologists to conserve cultural heritage?

Conservation is an essentially interdisciplinary field that requires the participation of large and diverse teams. For example, this work aims to demonstrate that biology is fundamental to explaining numerous processes of cultural heritage deterioration. Understanding the effects of organisms will allow us to define the conditions for their control or eradication. All of this is a necessary requirement for designing effective conservation projects. This will be illustrated with the example of rock art, the professor’s area of expertise.
