Dear colleagues,
The PlantAnim Symposium this year will be on CropOMICS – The future of Agriculture organised by João Neves (GreenUPorto/FCUP) andPedro Humberto Castro(BIOPOLIS & CIBIO).
It will take place on 12 June, CIBIO Auditorium, with 2 international invited speakers and selected contributions of 15 min each (questions included). A poster session will also be in place.
If you are interested in disseminating the results of your research on CropOMICS or just attend, you can now propose your contribution (talk or a poster) or simply register without a contribution here.
Detailed information on CropOMICS Symposium:
Crop production, which sustains the world’s food supply, has been threatened by accelerating climate change, global population growth, soil degradation, and emerging plant diseases. This symposium brings together experts, researchers, and students, empowering them to explore and shape the future of agriculture by integrating new genome editing technology and multi-omics strategies. CropOMICS aims to drive genetic-based innovative solutions in sustainable and resilient agricultural systems.
Confirmed Invited Speakers:
Nelson Saibo (ITQB-NOVA) is the principal investigator at the Plant Gene Regulation Laboratory. His research uses different genomics approaches to study transcription factors involved in environmental stress response and photosynthesis in economically important crops such as rice and maize.
Concha Gomez-Mena (IBMCP) is a senior scientist at the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology (IBMCP, CSIC-UPV) in Valencia (Spain). Her research focuses on the study of genetic and molecular mechanisms for the development of flowers and fruits in different crop species, such tomato.
Let’s meet and discuss CropOMICS!
