On May 13, 2025, CIIMAR will launch its first Open Day exclusively dedicated to university students.
The event is free of charge and will take place at the CIIMAR’s headquarters in Porto Cruise Terminal.
What can you expect?
Throughout the day, the research center will welcome students with activities organized especially for those who wish to invest their future in science. Many of you manifested interest in collaborating to the programme of this Open Day and will be on hand to accompany the participants, share your projects and show them the daily life of scientific research.
From mini lectures that will give a glimpse of current projects, workshops related to scientific careers, visits inside the laboratories, a science fair aimed at students and speed dating events with scientists from the research center, the open day will be packed with experiences aimed at the curiosity of those who are about to start their career in science.
Students will also be able to visit CIIMAR’s ex-libris, such as the CIIMAR LEGE-CC collection of microalgae and cyanobacteria. If you have other ideas to improve the programme, please let us know!
Registrations and program
The activities will be divided into two periods: one in the morning (9am-12pm) and one in the afternoon (2pm-5pm), in order to provide an organized, diversified program adapted to the interests of the participants.
