We are pleased to invite you to the next PlantAnim workshop: “Applying for International Funding – Challenges & Experiences”, taking place on 19 March 2025, 10h-13h, at the FCUP headquarters (Amphitheatre FC5 – FCUP, Rua do Campo Alegre s/n 4169-007 Porto, Portugal).
The main goal of this workshop is to provide researchers with practical tips, advice, and first-hand experiences from peers on how to identify, structure, and apply for international funding opportunities. We will be joined by FCUP’s “Research, Technology, and Innovation Office” and researchers who have successfully (or unsuccessfully!) applied for these calls. We will discuss consortium-associated applications, but also individual calls, such as ERC, EMBO or Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
The workshop is meant to be a moment of open and – we hope! – fruitful discussion about what has become an essential part of our work: applying for international funding. We will begin with presentations from invited speakers, followed by an interactive roundtable discussion open to all participants, encouraging to discuss possibilities but also difficulties and ideas on how to solve them. As usual, we will try to stimulate idea exchange and networking within the community.
